A wide range of artists contribute to the The DanceWright Project - some on a regular basis and others for unique events. All of these artists become the perfect ingredients for any DanceWright Project work they are a part of.

Here are the artists who have made The DanceWright Project what it is, since 2004.

Alyson Abriel Salomon

Alyson is originally from New Hampshire where she received her early training and performing experience. She later moved to New York and studied intensively with Emilietta Ettlin, Alexander Filipov, Wilhelm Burmann, David Howard, and Edward Ellison. She apprenticed with José Mateo Ballet Theatre in Cambridge, MA, before relocating to San Francisco. Ms. Abriel Salomon currently performs with Labayen Dance/SF and the DanceWright Project. She married the love of her life and supporter, Ariel, this summer in June.

Leda Pennell

Leda Pennell began her training with the San Diego School of Ballet and later joined the San Diego Ballet Junior Company. She attended pre-professional summer programs with American Ballet Theatre. Leda moved to San Francisco fall 2007 to pursue a career in dance, and attend San Francisco State University as a Psychology major. In spring of 2008, Leda danced professionally for Denia Dance and the DanceWright Project. Currently, Leda attends the professional class at the San Francisco Dance Center and continues to perform with Labayen Dance/SF and the DanceWright Project.

Karen Myers

Karen Myers

A native of the East Coast, Karen Meyers started her intensive ballet training at the Dance Theater of Florida under the direction of Sean Musselman at age 7. She was accepted into and attended various summer dance programs including American Ballet Theatre in New York City, Chautauqua Institute for the Arts with Jean-Pierre Bonnefoux and Patricia McBride in New York and was a scholarship participant for the Miami Dance Festival. In 1997, she danced professionally with Bay Ballet Theatre in St. Petersburg, FL for two seasons while finishing high school. Since graduating Indiana University with an English degree in 2002, she has worked professionally in both New York City and the Bay Area and currently manages the marketing and branding for a design company in Oakland. Upon her move CA in 2008, she performed with On-3, a modern/hip-hop performance group and joined LabayenDance/SF in 2009. She is a guest artist for Dance Wright's 2011 Season.


Caitlin “Max” Perna

Caitlin M. Perna, a graduate of Western Michigan University with a B.F.A. in Dance recently moved to the bay area only a few months ago. She has performed a variety of works at the collegiate level such as Strict Love by Doug Varone, Birthday Variations by Gerald Arpino, Finish Line by Kristin Legg and was understudy for the first solo in Dark Elogies by Antony Tudor. While attending the American Dance Festival in the summer of 2009, Perna had the privilege of working with such dancers and choreographers as David Dorfman, Abby Yager, Ursela Payne, Ruth Andrien and Gerri Houlihan. While there she also learned and performed Sololos by Trisha Brown.

SvetlanaPivchik

Svetlana Pivchik

Born in Odessa, Ukraine, Svetlana studied rhythmic gymnastics and Russian folkloric dance throughout her childhood. She performed extensively with Russian folkloric and modern dance companies in Ukraine. After coming to San Francisco, Svetlana has performed with Michael Mayes Jazz, Push Dance Company, DeniaDance, Nahn Ho Project and The DanceWright Project.

Linnea Snyderman

Linnea Snyderman is a proud native of Berkeley, CA. She began her training with the San Francisco Ballet School at the age of six and she went on to study at the Berkeley City Ballet where she performed annually in The Nutcracker. Linnea has attended summer programs such as San Francisco Ballet, Alonzo King’s Lines Ballet, Boston Ballet Dance Lab, Boston Ballet Summer Dance Program, San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, and State Street Ballet. She received her BFA in dance this past May from The Boston Conservatory. While at the conservatory, Linnea performed Dark Elegies by Antony Tudor, From the Diaries of Franz Kafka by Anna Sokolow, Graduation Ball by David Lichine, and a new work by Thang Dao. She is excited to be dancing with the DanceWright Project.

Annabelle Henry

Annabelle was born in Los Gatos, CA. She began training as a child at Fabulous Feet Dance Studio in Sonoma, CA and later at the Rohnert Park City Ballet under Tamara Grose and Academy of Ballet California under Keith Martin. She has also studied with Mary Dilillo, Susan Matthies and Tamara Statkoun. She has previously worked with Ross Dance Company, Moving Arts Dance and the San Francisco Opera Ballet. Annabelle is currently dancing with Napoles Ballet and Peninsula Ballet Theatre.

Sara Templeton

Sara Templeton is a freelance choreographer who uses the diversity of her background in hip-hop, modern, and ballet to create diverse, intelligent, and witty dance. She has been creating and presenting original work for the last 5 years, most recently at ODC and Dance Mission Theater. Sara currently teaches contemporary dance at Shoebox Studio, and spends her extracurricular time publishing chronicles in her Lulu book series, Memoirs of a Dance.

Katharina Worthington (Sauder)

Katharina Worthington (Sauder) started her dance training in Switzerland where she received her first nationally recognized choreography award at the age of 16. After moving to Los Angeles she attended California State University Long Beach on scholarship and graduated with a BFA in dance. She performed the works of Neta Pulvermacher, Martha Graham, Douglas Nielson and Terre O'Connor, among others. In addition, Katharina studied intensively in NYC and received her Horton Pedagogy Certification at the Ailey School in NYC. Currently, Katharina is staff teacher at San Francisco Dance Center, Alonzo Kings Lines Ballet School and guest teacher for the SF School of the Arts (SOTA), ODC Dance Commons and Shawl Anderson Modern Dance Center in Berkeley. Before moving to San Francisco, Katharina worked as an active performer and choreographer in the New York City dance community.

Alissa Baird

Alissa Baird, a native of Westerville, Ohio, began her formal dance training at BalletMet Columbus and continued her training at the Ohio State University, earning a bachelor's degree in dance. Alissa has danced professionally for more than 10 years with prestigious dance companies from Columbus Dance Theatre in Ohio, to Repertory Dance Theatre in Utah. She has also performed and taught as a featured guest artist in Arizona, Ohio, and in New York. She is also a certified Power Pilates instructor and has taught students of all ages and needs in Arizona, the Czech Republic and California.

Christina Chelette

Christina Chelette started her training with Bay Area Houston Ballet and Theatre in Houston, Tx, performing classical and contemporary repertory. While with BAHBT she also studied at the Joffrey Ballet School in New York and Ballet Austin. Most recently, she graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a B.A. in Dance. Christina has performed with InFlight Dance Theatre and was a guest artist with Contemporary Ballet Dallas. Christina has danced with Napoles Ballet Theatre, Denia Dance, and Natasha Carlitz Dance Ensemble.

Carol Colgate

Sheryl P. Denker

Sheryl received her formal dance training at Rozann-Zimmerman Ballet Center in Chatsworth, California, at the school of the San Francisco Ballet, and more recently at San Francisco Dance Center. She received her B.A. in Physiology from UC Berkeley and her Ph.D. in Biomedical Sciences from UC San Diego. In 2003, after a long hiatus from the movement of dance to pursue studies in the movement of cells and their organelles at UCSD and UCSF, Sheryl rediscovered her love of dance and since then has performed locally with The DanceWright Project, KunstStoff, and other independent artists. Sheryl is interested in the juxtaposition of whole body and cellular movement. Her most recent movement and cell biology experiment is her baby daughter!

Libby Dye

Libby Dye began her dance training at the Ballet Conservatory of Saddleback Valley and attended summer programs at Boston Ballet for three years and American Ballet Theatre for one year. She received her bachelor's degree in Dance and Arts Administration from Butler University in Indianapolis, IN and spent a summer abroad dancing in St. Petersburg, Russia. Libby performed with Butler Ballet and Butler Chamber Dance, and her favorite roles were Dew Drop Fairy in The Nutcracker and Carabosse in The Sleeping Beauty. She recently performed in A Chorus Line as Kristine and in Oklahoma! as Dream Laurey in Minneapolis, MN.

Kjersti Kjesbu

Kjersti began training at Ballet Arcadia with her mother. She attended summer sessions at Orlando Ballet, LINES Ballet, City Ballet of San Diego and San Diego Youth Ballet. She has previously worked with Peninsula Ballet Theatre, Oakland Ballet and many independent choreographers throughout the Bay Area.

Jaidah Terry

Jaidah Terry is originally from Illinois. Introduced to formal training just six short years ago, Jaidah has made a commitment to the art form with a passion too great for words, expressed only through dance. She has studied at Central Illinois Ballet School, Peoria Ballet Academy, and a year and a half of training at Alonzo King LINES Ballet School. She also studied at Ballet Chicago and ABT Austin. She has performed in The Nutcracker, Don Quixote, Cinderella, La Bayadère, and numerous contemporary works. She is currently working with The DanceWright Project and David Herrera Performance Company. She is also an apprentice with Copious Dance Theater.

Jessica Vandebroek

Sarah Wellman

A native of San Francisco, Sarah Wellman trained primarily with Maria Fe Picar in ballet, jazz and tap. She then focused her studies in ballet with LeeWei Chao, Richard Gibson, Katy Warner and Enrico Labayen, and performed as a guest artist with Hully Feticio and Dudley Brooks. She was a founding member of Moving A'cappella. Aside from the Dance Wright Project, Sarah has danced with Labayen Dance/SF and the George Young Dancers. She has designed and produced costumes for Denia Dance, Moving A'cappella, Kathy Mata Ballet, and the DanceWright Project.
